You're wondering: What is true love? What is a soulmate? Everybody wants one, but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what a soulmate is.
“Our soulmate is someone who shares our deepest longings, our sense of direction. When we're two balloons, and together our direction is up, chances are we've found the right person.”– Richard Bach

The bad news? The most intense, thrilling, excruciatingly painful emotional connections we've experienced romantically... may not be soulmates at all. At least not yet. Though they are a type of spiritual relationship. I call these karmic relationships.
If you have an intense connection with someone that just is not working out, this can be very hard to hear.
Maybe it's one of those 'right people, wrong time' kind of situations. But an intense heartbreak experience also has the potential to wake you up and consider deeper areas of life, such as karma. Meaning of karma
If you're interested in having a soulmate union, the best advice is learn how to understand and love yourself first. Whatever your goals, whatever your beliefs, this is always the first step.
